Packing slips are a critical ingredient in small business packaging. An Excel packing slip template, created by customizing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, can be quickly and easily updated to reflect unique business information. This is a money-saver for small businesses that don’t wish to purchase expensive software to create business forms, or spend hours creating and designing specialized forms. The first step? Download the free packing list template, on a computer that has Microsoft Excel 2003 or later.
- Click on the Download button. The Download button is on the upper right-hand section of the page, above the Details section.
- Enable cookies from Microsoft. The Microsoft template gallery download process only works when cookies are enabled.
- Read and accept the Microsoft Service Agreement. The terms of service are quite long, and are not specific to template download. In essence, the user is agreeing not to do anything to break the law or spam any other users. (Note: Always read the entire terms of service prior to agreement, and be aware that most agreements of this nature are subject to frequent change.)
Only users that are browsing with a recent version of Internet Explorer can automatically download the software. For small business owners or managers using another browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft will redirect to the manual download page.
Excel Packing List Template: Save and Customize
Save the packing list template to any folder on the computer, and open it using Microsoft Excel. Don’t worry if Excel isn’t available, just use Open Office to open the spreadsheet. Once the template is open, update the company name, logo and address information to create a template to use over and over by simply updating the customer name and address and list of ordered items.
