It's a breeze to create professional PPT presentations with these quick tips for success. First tip: Free templates give you more time for engaging content.

If you find yourself responsible for creating a dazzling PowerPoint presentation, don’t despair. Whether you are pressed for time, totally unfamiliar with the PPT software or just hate putting together a slideshow, these quick and easy tips will help you shine in your next business meeting or sales presentation.

Tip One: Use a Free PowerPoint Template

Using, and customizing, an existing template is a great way to simplify the task of creating a PPT presentation. How can a sample presentation help you?

  • Tired of spending hours clicking back-and-forth between slides to standardize formatting, and scouring the Internet, and your clip art gallery, for appropriate images? Pick a template with pre-made slides, including images, bullet-points and titles, and avoid all the hassle. Instead of agonizing over each slide, just click to add text.

  • Lacking experience with PowerPoint? Don’t worry - sample presentations take out all of the guesswork. Once you pick out the template that you like, just download it, open it up in PowerPoint, and click into the bullet points and headers to add the information for your presentation.

  • Need last-minute help? If you need to present your information in short order, you’ll be better off concentrating on the content of your presentation, not on the format of the slide-show. Organize your data, and just plug it into the example you’ve downloaded.

It’s easy to find sample templates online, but for a quick fix check out these professional PPT example templates. They’re appropriate for most business situations, and easy to use. Just click the “Download” button for the presentation that you prefer, and accept the Microsoft Terms of Service. Once the file is present on your computer, open it in Microsoft PowerPoint and modify it as needed to reflect your presentation data.

Tip Two: Don’t crowd your slides

A good slideshow presentation mixes visual information with the verbal information that you provide with each slide. When you type all of the details of your presentation into your meeting slides, you run into several problems:

  • The slides look cluttered, and are less engaging. Slide-after-slide of words just blurs together for your audience, and makes your presentation unappealing.

  • When everything’s written on your slides, it’s easier to just read the information directly from the slides than to explain each point to your audience. When you stop talking, and start reading, you lose your connection with your audience, which is the first step to losing their attention.
Professional Business Presentation Tips

Although each meeting and speech is different, there are a few things you can do to improve your reception at any event. Make sure that your presentation is professional by using sharp and appropriate images, know your topic inside and out, and connect with your audience. Pick a template that includes great photos, and you’ll have time to adequately prepare, and the confidence to engage with each and every person watching.
