According to a German study presented at the European Psychiatric Association 18th European Congress of Psychiatry in March, 2010, even group therapy improves duration and quality of sleep for insomniacs.

Natural Cures for Insomnia

Herbal remedies claiming to be natural cures for insomnia are very common. From chamomile teas to lavender oil aromatherapy, natural remedies can make a big difference. In addition, many insomnia sufferers turn to melatonin, a hormone that is excreted by the pineal gland during sleep. According to a 2001 MIT study, melatonin was helpful for older adults suffering from insomnia.

Sleep Schedule Cures Insomnia?

In addition to behavioral therapy and herbal remedies, a stable sleep schedule can make a big difference, even for chronic insomnia sufferers. Taking naps and sleeping late will reduce the body's need for sleep, which feeds the insomnia cycle.

Although insomnia makes life difficult, it can be conquered. By combining the power of positive thinking with minor lifestyle changes, you may be able to improve your quality of sleep, and as a result, your quality of life.
